A message from Kate:
With Referendum 71 still too close to call, we are not going to wait for qualification to begin our campaign to win the election. We MUST mobilize NOW to be ready for when ballots are mailed to voters in October, and we need YOUR help!
Our most immediate need regarding volunteering is for phone banking. We're starting Monday, August 10th at our office in Seattle (720 7th ave, 98104, between Columbia and Cherry st).The schedule will be Mon-Thurs 10am - 8pm and Fri 10am - 5pm. Anytime that you are available during these hours is much appreciated! We'll be calling voters and educating them on Ref 71, and the importance of voting APPROVE to retain WA state's domestic partnership law. If you're interested in a shift, please let me know as soon as possible! We must engage our friends, family and neighbors in this important campaign if we are to retain the domestic partnership law and protect all Washington families. It is the work and participation of our entire community, not a select few, that is imperative if we are to triumph.
The technology we use for phone banking is online, so this is also something that can also be done remotely or from home. If you would be interested in participating , please let me know and I can give you further instruction. We also need people to attend events all over the state to inform people about the referendum and collect pledges of support-- to find an event near you, check out our events calendar at:>http://www.fusewashington.org/page/content/equalrights
Thank you all for the work you do, and I hope to hear from you soon!
Kate
