There are pros and cons to any policy proposal. Yes, campaign financing is way out of control. I do not give to organizations such as the DNC,RNC or state parties and the like. I give to individual candidates that have passed my litmus test. Yes, I have a litmus test. Whether you are a democrat or not. I do not vote blind or just because.
So that said, I haven't a really good feeling with my tax dollars going to a candidate I'm opposed. The real culprit here is the cost. Why does the media charge outrageous amounts for what should be PSA's?
Given the mediums the candidates' have to work with, I can see where an incumbent would have the upper-hand with this proposal.
But, (and there is always one I know),if this is a check the box on ones tax form and one can opt-out then it may be worth the try. How would that work for city and state races in a state such as ours where one doesn't file a state tax?
It all boils down to choices. What choice do the voters have and for that matter, the candidates?
